First floor views across our gardens reveal why the Wedgewood Room draws so many returning clients. Natural light pours through the tall windows, illuminating the intricate Adams-style plasterwork that curves across the ceiling in delicate patterns. When the afternoon sun catches York Minster in the distance, we often see delegates pause mid-presentation to appreciate the view. The room adapts remarkably well to different meeting formats. We regularly reconfigure from theatre-style presentations for 85 attendees to more intimate boardroom discussions for 30. The cabaret layout proves particularly popular for training sessions, seating 40 comfortably with space for laptops and materials. That original fireplace anchors the room beautifully, while the wood panelling adds warmth without feeling heavy. Our AV technician handles the technical setup, adjusting the climate control to keep everyone comfortable regardless of group size. The chandeliers provide elegant overhead lighting, though we can adjust levels to suit presentations or workshops. Just outside, the dedicated refreshment area means coffee breaks flow smoothly without disrupting neighbouring meetings. Being directly next to York Station makes arrival straightforward for delegates travelling from London, Edinburgh or Manchester. Many groups appreciate starting their day with breakfast in Peachey's Bar & Grill downstairs before heading up to the Wedgewood. After productive sessions, teams often unwind in The Swollen Gambler or take a quick walk through our three-acre gardens. The room's proportions work especially well for board meetings in U-shape formation, allowing 30 participants clear sightlines while maintaining the intimacy needed for strategic discussions. Whether you're planning quarterly reviews, team workshops or client presentations, the Wedgewood provides a refined Yorkshire setting that keeps the focus on your objectives.
