The warm wooden floors and soft lighting of the Bistro Cottage create exactly the right atmosphere for wedding celebrations at our Edinburgh venue. This charming space in the historic Corn Exchange building combines original architectural features with everything modern couples need for their special day. Natural light pours through the large windows, illuminating the neutral-toned interior that serves as a perfect canvas for your wedding décor. We can arrange the room for up to 150 guests during drinks receptions, or seat 80 comfortably for your wedding breakfast. The high ceilings inherited from the building's agricultural trading past add an unexpected grandeur to intimate ceremonies and lively receptions alike. What really sets the Bistro Cottage apart is the private decking area, where many couples choose to host their drinks reception. Furnished with picnic tables and benches, surrounded by greenery, it offers a peaceful outdoor space for guests to celebrate while the Edinburgh breeze carries conversations and laughter. Some couples arrange BBQs here, others prefer champagne and canapés, but everyone appreciates having this landscaped terrace as part of their celebration. Our three distinct areas within the Bistro Cottage can work separately or flow together, depending on how you envision your day unfolding. Perhaps the ceremony in one section, drinks in another, then opening up the full space for dancing. Built-in AV equipment handles everything from processional music to evening entertainment, while air conditioning keeps everyone comfortable regardless of the season. Saltire Hospitality prepares all our wedding menus, from elegant three-course dinners to relaxed buffet spreads. Located on New Market Road near Slateford station, we provide complimentary parking for all your guests. The Grade B listed building's period details, combined with modern amenities and that lovely decking area, create a wedding venue that feels both special and genuinely welcoming.
