Medical curiosities surround your guests from floor to ceiling in our Reading Room, where a 1920s X-ray machine shares space with Beethoven's life mask. We've created something special here at Wellcome Collection, transforming what could be a traditional library into one of Bloomsbury's most intriguing party spaces. The room draws you in through its central feature, a red carpeted staircase with plush cushions that invites guests to explore the mezzanine level above. Up there, bookshelves line the walls, creating intimate corners where conversations naturally flow. During the day, natural light pours through large windows, while evening events benefit from our carefully arranged pendant lights that cast a warm glow across the wooden floors. We've arranged comfortable seating areas around vibrant red rugs throughout the space, giving your 160 standing guests plenty of spots to pause between mingling. The mix of modern and vintage furniture reflects our broader philosophy, where contemporary comfort meets historical fascination. Each artifact tells its own story, from the dress illustrating neural development to the carefully preserved medical instruments that spark conversation. Our in-house catering team brings the same attention to detail, working with seasonal ingredients to create menus that accommodate every dietary requirement.
