The Garden at Salters' Hall comes alive between April and September when we open David Hicks' carefully designed outdoor space for events. Against the backdrop of London's ancient Roman City wall, this acre of manicured lawns and sculptured hedges becomes your private oasis in the Square Mile. We've watched countless summer parties unfold here, from relaxed BBQs where guests spread across the lawn to sophisticated cocktail receptions flowing between the planted borders. The space holds up to 300 people standing, though most find themselves gravitating towards the benches tucked between the hedges or gathering near the historic wall that runs along one side. David Hicks laid out these gardens with entertaining in mind. The pathways guide natural circulation, while open lawn areas create perfect spots for bars or food stations. When the evening light catches the Roman stonework and filters through the planted screens, photographers always thank us for the setting. Our Garden works in tandem with the Main Hall, which means weather never derails your plans. Most organisers use both spaces anyway, letting guests flow between indoor and outdoor areas throughout their event. Seasoned Events, our caterers, set up serving stations that work just as smoothly outside as in, handling everything from canapé receptions to full BBQ spreads. They'll accommodate any dietary requirements - halal, kosher, vegan, gluten-free - all prepared to the same award-winning standard. Just a short walk from Moorgate Station, guests find us easily even in evening dress. The Garden transforms throughout the day: morning product launches benefit from the natural light, afternoon receptions enjoy the full sun, and evening parties take on a magical quality as subtle lighting illuminates the plantings and architectural features.
