Four hundred years of celebrations have soaked into the brick walls of The Wine Cellars, where countless wedding toasts have echoed through these ancient vaulted chambers. Deep beneath The Stafford London, our 17th-century cellars create an extraordinary backdrop for intimate wedding ceremonies and receptions, transforming what was once a storage space into one of London's most atmospheric wedding venues. The exposed brickwork and stone arches frame your celebration beautifully, while our collection of over 8,000 bottles lines the walls, creating a dramatic setting unlike any traditional wedding venue. We arrange long banquet tables through the space, dressed with fine china and crystal that catches the candlelight. Fresh flowers cascade down the tables, their colours warming against the aged brick, whilst overhead, our chandeliers cast pools of golden light that dance across the curved ceiling. For wedding breakfasts, we can seat 44 guests at banquet tables, creating an intimate feast where conversation flows as freely as the wine. Prefer a livelier celebration? The space opens up to welcome 70 guests for standing receptions, where the cellar's multiple alcoves create natural gathering spots for guests to mingle with champagne in hand. Some couples choose cabaret-style seating for 18, perfect for more relaxed wedding parties where the focus stays on connection and conversation. Our sommeliers love working with couples to create bespoke wine pairings that tell your story, perhaps featuring vintages from significant years or regions that hold special meaning. The cellars' natural acoustics make speeches particularly memorable, every word carrying clearly through the stone chambers. Just minutes from Green Park and Piccadilly stations, your guests can easily reach us from across London. The quiet St James's location, tucked between Mayfair and Buckingham Palace gardens, offers a sense of escape whilst remaining wonderfully central for your celebration.
