The wrought iron railings catch your eye first as you descend into our Dining Room, where Edinburgh's printing press heritage meets contemporary Scottish dining. We've kept the original stone walls and industrial fixtures that once housed thundering presses, now creating an atmospheric backdrop for gatherings of up to 60 seated guests or 85 for standing receptions. Our split-level layout works brilliantly for different group sizes. Book the entire space for your celebration, or we can arrange the upper level for more intimate dinners while maintaining the energy of the full room. Natural light pours through our large windows during daytime events, while evening brings out the warm glow of our pendant lights, each table set with polished glassware that reflects the soft illumination. The tartan-patterned wall panels add subtle Scottish character without overwhelming the space, complementing the warm wooden floors and contemporary furnishings. We find the combination creates exactly the right atmosphere, whether you're hosting a milestone birthday dinner, family gathering, or corporate event. Our location just steps from the Royal Mile means your guests can easily find us, with excellent transport links nearby. The basement setting provides a welcome escape from the bustle above, creating your own private Edinburgh dining experience. For private dining, we craft bespoke menus featuring the same Scottish ingredients that define our regular service, hand-dived scallops, Perthshire mushrooms, locally reared meats, all arriving fresh that week. Our kitchen accommodates all dietary requirements with advance notice, including fully plant-based tasting menus. Sunday through Thursday, we waive venue hire charges when you book the entire dining room, and our team will guide you through wine pairings that suit both your menu and budget.
