The Court Room sits on the first floor, right next to our Banqueting Hall, and when clients first walk in, they often pause to take in the William Morris tapestry, the largest of its kind in the country. The rich wood panelling runs floor to ceiling, punctuated by tall stained-glass windows that cast coloured light across the red and gold patterned carpet below. We've configured this space countless ways over the years. For board meetings, we arrange it for 28 around the main table, where the acoustics let everyone hear clearly without raising voices. Theatre-style, we fit 50 comfortably, with clear sightlines to the presentation area near the grand fireplace. The historical artifacts and artwork around the room tend to spark conversations during coffee breaks, and many clients tell us the setting helps their meetings feel more substantial, more considered. The practicalities work well here. Natural light floods in during morning sessions, while the air conditioning keeps things comfortable when discussions run long. Wi-Fi coverage is solid throughout, and the room's position means it's quiet, away from street noise. Our catering team works from the kitchens below, bringing up working lunches or afternoon refreshments as needed. They handle all dietary requirements, halal, vegan, gluten-free, whatever your group needs. Getting here is straightforward. Barbican Station is closest, just a few minutes' walk, with Moorgate and St Paul's also nearby. The building has full wheelchair access, with lifts to the first floor. We keep a fully stocked bar for evening events, licensed until 11 PM, though for daytime meetings most groups stick to coffee and tea. The Court Room suits groups who want their gathering to feel significant. The history in these walls, from the Tudor beams to that magnificent tapestry, adds weight to any occasion.
