The Magazine's Exclusive Venue Hire opens up all three floors of this 1805 gunpowder store, giving you complete privacy for your celebration right where Kensington Gardens meets Hyde Park. When you book the entire building, your guests enter through the original stone archway into Zaha Hadid's remarkable transformation, where contemporary glass walls frame the historic parkland beyond. The main reception space flows across the ground floor, accommodating up to 300 guests for cocktails or 140 for seated dinners. We configure the space to suit your event, whether that's round tables beneath the flowing membrane ceiling for a wedding breakfast, or an open floor plan for product launches and evening receptions. The minimalist interior, with its polished concrete floors and white surfaces, becomes a canvas for your chosen lighting scheme, while those floor-to-ceiling windows shift from bright daylight to atmospheric reflections as evening falls. Our upper galleries provide quieter spaces for guests to retreat and chat, with views across the Serpentine Bridge through the glass walls. The outdoor terraces come into their own during summer parties, extending your celebration into the gardens. We've hosted everything from fashion shows utilising all three levels to intimate birthday dinners where guests watch the sun set over Hyde Park. Chef Tomas Kolkus creates bespoke menus for each event, working with seasonal ingredients from our regular suppliers. Recent celebrations have featured whole roasted turbot with Jersey Royals for wedding dinners, or grazing stations with British charcuterie and organic wines served on tap for relaxed evening parties.
