Golden sashes catch the morning light as it streams through the Sophia Suite's windows, transforming ordinary chairs into something rather special. We've dressed this room for countless weddings over the years, and each couple brings their own vision to these 60 square metres of possibility. The natural daylight here changes throughout the day, something photographers particularly love. Morning ceremonies bathe the room in soft light, while afternoon receptions take on a warmer glow. We can arrange the space to seat 50 guests for your wedding breakfast, though many couples prefer the cabaret layout with 35 seats, creating more intimate table groupings where conversation flows easily. Air conditioning keeps everyone comfortable, especially important when the dance floor opens up later. The proportions of the room, 12 metres by 5, give us flexibility with layouts. We've created everything from traditional top table arrangements to circular seating plans that put the happy couple right at the heart of their celebration. Our meetings lounge connects directly to the suite, providing a natural space for pre-ceremony gatherings or somewhere for the wedding party to prepare. The white chair covers we use as standard create a blank canvas for your chosen colour scheme. Some couples bring in dramatic florals, others keep things minimal with just those golden accents we've perfected over time. Cardiff Castle sits nearby, offering stunning photo opportunities, while the National Museum provides an elegant backdrop for wedding portraits. Many wedding guests stay with us, taking advantage of our 202 rooms, with some specifically requesting castle views for the occasion. From intimate ceremonies to lively receptions, the Sophia Suite adapts to your wedding style.
