Walking through the quirky entrance of ninetyeight bar, past the toy dinosaurs and zebra prints, you'll find our Upstairs Event Space waiting to surprise your guests with something completely unexpected. We've wrapped this entire room, every wall, every piece of furniture, even the light fixtures, in white bandages, creating what feels like stepping inside an art installation rather than a typical party venue. The space combines Victorian elegance with playful rebellion. Our ornate chairs and plush sofas, all swathed in those distinctive white wrappings, offer comfortable seating while maintaining the room's surreal aesthetic. The warm wooden floors ground the space, preventing it from feeling too otherworldly, while the bandaged walls create an intimate cocoon that transforms any gathering into something memorable. We've designed the layout to work for different group sizes and event styles. For corporate mixology classes, we can arrange the space for 20 people in a boardroom setup, giving everyone room to shake and stir their creations. Birthday parties often use our banquet arrangement for 50 guests, with plenty of space for mingling between courses. When hosting book launches or exhibitions, we open everything up to accommodate 100 people for standing receptions, letting guests wander and discover the room's peculiar details. The bandage room, as regulars call it, has become our most requested space for those wanting their event to feel distinctly un-corporate. Art exhibitions work particularly well here, with the neutral palette letting artwork pop against the textured walls. Wedding parties book it for rehearsal dinners that feel more like entering someone's wild imagination than a standard venue. Located just upstairs from our main bar on Curtain Road, your guests can easily flow between spaces, enjoying our signature cocktails while exploring this wonderfully bizarre environment we've created in the heart of Shoreditch.
