We're housed in an 1880s mansion that Thomas Pain built as his private residence, and you can still feel that original warmth throughout our 72 bedrooms and gathering spaces. Our Conservatory Restaurant has earned two AA Rosettes, where our chefs blend traditional British favorites with contemporary techniques. During warmer months, we serve afternoon tea in this light-filled space while you gaze out over our manicured gardens. Each of our rooms comes equipped with flat-screen TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee facilities—from our Classic rooms to our more spacious Feature accommodations, including the Jane Austen Suite with its period details and woodland views. For meetings and dining events, we offer several distinct spaces. Our Garden Pavilion accommodates up to 200 guests and works beautifully for larger conferences or celebrations. The Conservatory provides a more intimate setting for smaller business gatherings or private dinners, with natural light streaming through the windows. We've hosted everything from corporate strategy sessions to milestone birthday parties, with free parking available for all your guests. The ornate stonework and original stained glass windows throughout the building create an atmosphere that modern venues simply can't replicate. We're conveniently positioned just 18 miles from Reading and 32 miles from Southampton, with straightforward access from the M3. Jane Austen's House and The Vyne are both nearby if your group wants to explore the area.
