The Lounge upstairs gives you the whole first floor to yourself, complete with those gorgeous Georgian windows that catch the afternoon sun perfectly. We've watched countless celebrations unfold here, from surprise 30th birthdays where guests packed the space all the way to the landing, to engagement parties where the cheers could be heard downstairs in the main pub. With room for 80 standing or 55 seated, the space adapts to however you want your party to flow. Groups tend to move naturally between the comfortable seating areas and the open floor space, drinks in hand from our private bar. Speaking of which, having your own bar with six beer and cider taps means no one's queuing downstairs with the regular crowd, though some guests do wander down to catch the football or soak up the atmosphere of our bustling ground floor. The wooden floors and classic chandeliers create that perfect balance, somewhere that feels special without being stuffy. We arrange the furniture to suit your celebration, whether that's clearing space for dancing or setting up for our sharing platters. Those British pub classics like our homemade pies tend to vanish quickly, and our kitchen keeps sending up fresh plates of loaded nachos and proper mains throughout your event. Just south of Old Street Station on City Road, your guests can easily find us from anywhere in London. The projector and screen come in handy for everything from photo slideshows to those inevitable party games, while the free Wi-Fi helps when someone needs to quickly sort the playlist. We stock craft beers alongside the usual lagers, decent wines, and artisan spirits, basically covering whatever your crowd prefers. The minimum spend hire keeps things simple, you're essentially promising to eat and drink what you would anyway, making The Lounge an easy choice for birthdays, engagements, or any celebration worth raising a glass to.
